Single Band Patch Antenna for Onchip Receiver

Abstract

: This paper presents an onchip microstrip rectangular patch antenna design with centre frequency 2.4 GHz. The antenna acts as the front end circuit of the onchip receiver which achieved an impedance bandwidth of 100 MHz around the centre frequency. The design achieved -27dB S11 in the operating bands ensuring radiation efficiency. The antenna reached a gain of 3.45 dB in the desired frequency range which makes this design suitable for an onchip antenna. The antenna is fed with microstrip feed line and it can be matched with a band pass filter to implement for the wireless receiver applications.
