Permeable Pavement & its Application- A Case Study

Abstract

This work would help in utilizing the pavement areas for the improvement of ground water recharge. It deals with the study of construction and application of such a pavement which is permeable in nature, i.e. it allows water to pass through it. Light has been thrown on various aspects of replacement of conventional pavements with permeable pavement and its effects. The problem related to scarcity of water arriving due to increasing area of paved surfaces has been considered. A detailed study has been made and views are focused in the direction of water conservation through enhancing the ground water recharge. The ups and downs of the application of permeable pavement have been analyzed through this work. A brief estimate of Raipur city for permeable pavement has also been prepared.
